Episode 320 starts off with the first mission for the Running Man cast and special guests. There is a given quote that mentions of bringing a certain item on the day of filming. If the Running Man cast members and special guests are the first ones to arrive on set, there is a special advantage that will be given for the final mission of the race. The item that the Running Man members and cast are supposed to bring is: “bae choo” or in English, Napa cabbage.

The first person to arrive on the day filming is revealed to be Actor and Comedian, Yoo Hae Jin. One by one the cast start to arrive on set, rushing to see if they are the first ones to arrive. Other special guests include, idol-turned-actor Lee Joon, Actress Lim Ji Yeon and Actress Jo Yoon Hee.

The Running Man staff reveal that this will be a team race and the teams are formed through order of time/who came the fastest. But there is an opportunity before the race officially starts to change a member their team for another on another team.

Blue Team:
– Yoo Hae Jin
– Yoo Jae Suk
– Lee Kwang Soo
-Lee Joon

Red Team
– Song Ji Hyo
– Lim Ji Yeon
– Jo Yoon Hee
– Ji Suk Jin

Green Team
– Haha
– Gary
– Kim Jong Kook

After forming teams, the Running Man staff reveal that all members recieve 10,000 won for answering the first mission question right. The person who came first with the right item (Yoo Hae Jin) is given his special advantage which is beneficial for his entire time.

Moving on after deciding teams, all the members are lead to another room where they are presented with a buffet of food. Although all of the Running Man members and guests are wary as to why they are able to pick any food they want to eat, they all choose and sit down to eat. Before actually starting the meal the production staff tells the cast that there will be a table inspection of the food that they are eating – which turns out that certain foods are taken away from the cast.

The real reason behind the race is revealed to be in relation of Hangul (Korea’s national alphabet). The staff explain that Hangul has 14 consonants and that the teams must collect all the consonants in order to receive another advantage for the final race. The reason for getting certain foods taken away is that the cast can only eat foods that contain consonants in their name. They are only able to use modes of transportation with the available consonants that they have for their team. At this point, all teams do not have many consonants in their possession. However, the Blue Team, is given their advantage and earn two consonants (“B” and “C”) before the official race begins.

After changing into their team outfits, the opportunity to change team members occurs through a quiz about Korean words. In the end, the Red Team wins and switches Ji Suk Jin for Kim Jong Kook. More details are revealed about the race, is that once a team obtains all 14 consonants, the missions are over and proceed to the final race. They must go to various mission sites in order to gain consonants.
