The Spice Girls on Tour

That’s right. The Spice Girls are back to save the world once more. Well … at least four of them, anyway. On November 5, the Spice Girls official Instagram account posted a video announcing that Scary (Melanie Brown), Sporty (Melanie Chisholm), Baby (Emma Bunton) and Ginger (Geri Halliwell) would be embarking on their first tour in 10 years through the United Kingdom in the summer of 2019.

Those who live anywhere in England and Ireland will be blessed to see the fearsome foursome once again in all their outrageously clothed, wild-haired, high top-shoed glory. Granted, the ladies are all mothers now, their experience has given them wider perspective and probably a new outlook on how to approach touring. But their flare for the extravagant hasn’t changed one bit. Luckily for fans of the iconic pop group, they’re ready to bring their brand of pop back to the masses. albeit only in the UK and Ireland, but still …
Unfortunately, Posh (Victoria Beckham) won’t be joining her sisters in Girl Power this time around. However, she did wish her girls all the luck in the world. The last time all five came together was in 2007 for their Return of the Spice Girls World Tour. With that came single “Headlines (Friendship Never Ends).” It might be too much to hope for that we’ll get more new music this time around. But perhaps we can hope for more dates outside Europe. Initially there were only six dates officially announced for the tour. However, due to high demand (because let’s face it, everybody regardless of how they feel about the Spice Girls is always in need of more Spice Girls), they’ve already had to add another couple dates in cities that weren’t previously on their schedule. One can only hope that the girls realize that their worldwide fans are just as eager to Spice Up Their Lives as those in the UK.

Tickets went on sale on November 10. The first stop of the tour is slated to be in Manchester on May 29 at Manchester Etihad stadium. For more information about the tour, visit the Spice Girls official website.
