Hunter Brown, an offensive lineman for the Air Force, passed away on Monday morning after having a “medical emergency” outside of his dorm, the university reported on Tuesday. He was 21.

Brown was a native of Louisiana’s Lake Charles. During the 2022 season, the Cadet 3rd Class faced off against Nevada and Northern Iowa. Brown was pursuing a management degree and a French minor. Brown was enrolled in Cadet Squadron 16 and majoring in management. Additionally, he had just had two consecutive winning seasons with the Falcon football team. Hunter was a star offensive lineman for the Falcon football team and well-liked in his squadron, according to Lt. Gen. Richard M. Clark, superintendent of the U.S. Air Force Academy. His passing is lamented by the entire U.S. Air Force Academy.

According to the school, academy very first responders were contacted and tried to save the victim’s life. Authorities from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and the Air Force Office of Special Investigations have sealed the area and are conducting an investigation. The school claimed that it is a regular practice for a service person to pass away on base.
