‘Asia On Tour’ Lineup Rocked Dallas, Texas. Hard.

Texas House of Blues locations recently welcomed Live Nation’s “Asia On Tour feat. MIYAVI” on April 14 in Dallas and April 15 in Houston. The consecutive evenings delivered an unforgettable cross-cultural music experience, introducing new listeners to proven artists from other countries while simultaneously treating them to world-renowned musician MIYAVI’s “Firebird” world tour. MACG Magazine had the pleasure of attending both evenings’ shows, and we hope you will enjoy reading our coverage as much as we enjoyed writing it.

SHINee Invites Dallas to an Extravaganza of Iconic Hits [Guest]

Friday was a big day for SHINee, as it marked the quintet’s first full solo concert debut on US soil. The group returned to the Verizon Theatre at Grand Prarie near Dallas, TX for an evening that could only be described as explosively triumphant.

Until now, the SHINee World concert series had only descended upon Asian and South American countries, leaving many fans outside that circuit, myself included, scavenging the internet for glimpses of the show. But with K-pop’s massive popularity hike in the last few years, it was only a matter of time before SM Entertainment granted broader access to one of the most iconic streams of music to ever come out of Korea.

HyunA Proves ‘The Queen’s Back’ at Dallas Concert

The multi-talented HyunA recently dropped by Dallas on a leg of her very first American tour, “The Queen’s Back.” Presented by KpopMe, this tour has not only proven HyunA’s international popularity, it has shown why she so rightfully deserves the title of queen. As soon as the show began, HyunA appeared under the spotlights like…

GOT7 Houston Fanmeet Experience

On Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, GOT7 was in Houston for the very first time. The process of buying tickets on its own proved to be a small taste what the fanmeet would be like. After a night out with friends in December, we all set our alarms in preparation to buy our tickets. The first…

Zico at KOKO in Camden, London

On January 5, 2017, K-pop fans eagerly lined up outside of the KOKO venue awaiting entry to see their favorite idol, Zico, up close and personal. Some huddled in a circle and cheerfully sang some of his best songs, while others, who had been in line since the early morning, sat on the ground while discussing their plans to…

My First Korean Hiphop Concert

About a month before tickets went on sale a friend asked me to go see Kidoh at the Hallyu Entertainment KPOP ALL NIGHT event with her and another friend. At that moment, I had absolutely no idea who Kidoh was, let alone Topp Dogg, but I agreed because I had never even been to Kpop…

My First Dean Concert [Guest]

So my day started off just as any other day, a quick coffee, snack, then off to work on my computer at home. Except on that day, while checking my emails, I received an offer from the lovely Multifacetedacg Productions to attend DEAN’s concert in Los Angeles as Press! Previously I had heard that the show’s tickets had popped up with very little promotion, and yet, sales had been completely wiped out by fans in less than 2 hours. So naturally, I said heck yeah and took my camera as well as my flat behind straight to The Mayan Theater. When I had arrived, there was a packed crowd of DEAN fans (is there a fan name?) lined up against the sidewalk, bubbling over with excitement, their eyes bright with hope at the moment to see their fave and possibly touch his hand.

Big Phony Is the Real Deal

This past week at Austin’s annual South by Southwest (SXSW) music and film festival, I experienced one of the most serene and beautiful musical performances I have ever had the pleasure of hearing. Performing in St. David’s Bethel Hall was little known singer-songwriter, Bobby Choy, also known as Big Phony. Contrary to his name, he is certainly no…
