About Conrad Dobler

Dobler, who had played college football at the University of Wyoming, was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the fifth round of the 1972 NFL Draft. Between the years 1972 and 1977, he was the right offensive guard for the Cardinals, where he played alongside Hall of Famer Dan Dierdorf at right tackle. During those years, the Cardinals possessed strong offensive lines, particularly for pass blocking; in 1975, they allowed only eight sacks, which was a record at the time (though helped by quick releases from quarterback Jim Hart). Dobler was a crucial cog in this successful machine and appeared in the Pro Bowl on three consecutive occasions, beginning in 1975 and continuing through 1977.
