As if they haven’t done enough in 2018, NCT DREAM is back with a fun, end of summer song and the second EP “We Go Up.”

When I say the Big Sister “uwus” lept from the very core of my being. Not long ago these same boys were singing about chewing gum. But now two years on, “We Go Up” is a song that conveys the group is open to some changes. Members Mark, Haechan, Jeno, Renjun, Chenle and Jisung transitioned seamlessly into a more mature sound, acting as the foil to their last release, “GO.” Showcasing the fluidity of teenager-dom, the instrumentation cuts between heavy bass synth and cowbell during the verses to more open-air production in the pre-chorus and chorus.

Lyrically, the track reminisces about the group’s past comebacks together. With this release being Mark’s last comeback with the unit (as he’s no longer a teenager), this song is just what their fans need to keep their spirits high. Though it’s strange to think about a DREAM song without Mark’s signature flow, Jeno, Jaemin and Jisung proved they can hold their own.
