The Hallyu Wave can be exciting, new and quite an experience BUT it’s missing something… a sprinkle of truth. Something that your favorite Hallyu YouTubers, K-pop Journalists and media outlets cannot completely “disclose.” Sometimes you just need that unfiltered truth or educated opinion in a wave that’s based on fantasy. You need us, “The sprinKle Podcast.”
In this episode we discussed the struggles of an international K-pop fan, from the purchasing of albums to concert tickets and traveling to see your favs. Shari shared some personal experiences about press in Europe while Ale recalled hallyu events hosted in his hometown. Kaylee recalled her experience at the “BTS WINGS Tour” last year with the photography and video policy K-pop concerts have and the difference between the culture and concert etiquette when compared to concerts in Korea. Immy also had a story to share about her past K-pop concerts and made a prediction about the ticket resale situation international fans face. We as international fans feel this never-ending half excitement, half frustrated way about the whole situation, and we discussed possible solutions where all parties can be satisfied, meet in the middle.
Want to hear what we had to say about this situation and some experiences that will prep you for a K-pop concert? Watch our second episode here:
Immy is a U.S. east coast girl who talks and writes about the world she has never seen with an open heart. When not crying over the latest K-pop release she channels some of that energy into writing for Seoulwave and MACG Magazine. She is also a Social Media Coordinator for MACG Productions LLC and produces/hosts her own K-pop radio show called “Daebak K-pop with IMMY”.
