On November 30, J-pop singer and rapper Otomonai Mina, aka Chanmina (ちゃんみな), made a comeback with “Pain Is Beauty.” The edgy artist explores the emotions of overcoming rejection and negativity through the song lyrics and video. The song is her third release of the year and stays true to her vibrant style.

Chanmina was born Oct. 14, 1998 in South Korea to a Korean mother and Japanese father. She is able to interact with her fans in Japanese, Korean and English, leading to her moniker of “trilingual rapper/singer of the Millennial generation.” Her love for the arts began with the piano, singing and ballet during her childhood. She continued to explore her creativity through songwriting, music production and choreography throughout her high school days. In 2017, Chanmina made her debut with “FXXKER,” a bold track that has over 6.9 million views on YouTube at the time of this article.
