Rebels can now rejoice. Dean revealed on his Instagram what may be considered a teaser image for his as-of-yet unnamed new release.
In an interview with Japan’s FNMNL TV, the “future” R&B artist revealed that his plans for the New Year include an English-language single. Dean also intimated that he’s in the process of completing his first English album, saying, “Afterward, we’re going to record in Europe for this album release.”
Dean has been hinting at releasing more English-language music since last year’s South by Southwest, where he performed at K-Pop Night Out and was the first artist of Asian descent to perform on Spotify House’s intimate back patio. In an interview with Officially Kmusic, one of many he’d have during the ten-day festival, he stated that after the release of his now critically acclaimed “130 MOOD: TRBL” his future plans included “to release a single in the US and an album is in the works.”
There isn’t much in the way of a teaser beyond the sketch used to announce the single’s upcoming release. What fans can likely expect is the second installment of his “130 MOOD” series. In October, he teased as to the thematic direction of the second part of the series. He took to Instagram, as he is wont to do, and gifted fans more of his “aesthetic” imagery, with the caption “BLSS.” In December he again took to Instagram and posted another not-so-cryptic hint—a painting of a sunset (or sunrise, depending on perspective) with the caption “2017 bless bliss.”
With the momentum built in 2016, Dean is sure to have another stellar year musically. If his band of Rebels has anything to say about it, his notoriety and acclaim will only increase.
