Block B‘s Zico and soloist IU team up for the easygoing summer release titled “Soulmate.”

More artists are leaning toward a softer, mellower sound as the summer winds down. Though Zico’s solo material has its fair share of rap-focused tracks, his softer side shows through in these slower ballad-type ventures. IU’s voice is the perfect feature, adding her unique and airy vocals to the track.

“Soulmate” stands on chill-hop instrumentals, which leaves a lot of room in the composition for artists to play with the beat division. Zico takes advantage of this in his rap while also showing off his upper register in singing parts of the chorus. IU is equally impressive as she showcases her light more adult-sounding vocals.

Did you enjoy Zico and IU’s collaboration?
