It has just come to light that Noel Rodriguez-Alvarez, a severely crippled 6-year-old American kid, has been missing since October of last year, and that his parents, one of whom is of Indian descent, have departed the country, adding another layer of mystery to the case. After receiving an anonymous report that Noel has been gone since November, Child Protective Services in Texas launched an investigation on March 20 and upgraded a missing person notice to a “Endangered Missing People Alert.” It turned out that nobody else in the family had seen him or his siblings, either. Among Noel’s many severe impairments is a persistent lung illness that necessitates medication and periodic oxygen therapy.

As Noel’s mother phoned his school on March 23 to inquire about enrollment, police and CPS detectives reportedly discovered that he and his four siblings, ages 7 to 11, and his half-siblings, 5-month-old twins, had been missing. The inquiry into Noel’s whereabouts began after police and CPS were unable to get in touch with Rodriguez-Singh again.

How did Noel’s go missing?

After speaking with Cindy Rodriguez-Singh, Noel’s mother, the police learned that Noel was in Mexico with his biological father. His father told the detectives that he was deported before Noel was born, thus he never got to see him. The Department of Homeland Security has since corroborated this report.

‘No physical evidence of Noel as a missing person’

Everman Police Chief Craig Spencer said that his department has no tangible evidence of Noel’s disappearance.

When asked what he knew, he responded, “What I do know is that a 6-year-old, seriously challenged youngster cannot be accounted for and is missing, the mother has not been willing to assist with detectives to help us simply verify the child is safe and we badly need the public’s help.”

The police have confirmed that they had previously investigated and taken action against Noel’s mother, but they have not disclosed any other details at this time.

She had a lengthy criminal record, which included alcohol-related offences, according to the police.

Search for family and evidence continue:

The police, CPS, and DHS are all working together to determine if Noel and his family were detained in Turkey or whether their flight continued on to Cindy’s husband’s native India.

No more children are in immediate danger, according to the police, and there is no reason to link them to the amber warning, they added.
