With thousands of anime released it’s so hard to just pick one to settle on. Haven’t been keeping up with the latest anime? Are you just discovering anime for the first time? Or are you simply looking for a new anime to (binge) watch? Here are a couple suggestions for you!

The Ancient Magus’ Bride

If you are looking for a fantasy/magic-type of anime, “The Ancient Magus’ Bride” may just be the one for you! Hatori Chise, a girl who is subjected to being sold on the black market, is bought by a mysterious mage named Elias Ainsworth. Ainsworth aims to take Chise under his wing as his apprentice. The story is about Chise’s journey as she discovers the world of magic and more about herself along the way. Aside from the story, the graphics and animation are something right out of a Studio Ghibli movie (even though it is not from the same studio). The anime is still currently airing as of this article; however, there is a prequel anime titled “The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Those Awaiting a Star,” which shows more magic and mythical creatures.

Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma

This shounen series is all about food! If you are a big foodie and also love anime at the same time, this show is the perfect one to watch! This particular anime is about Yukihira Soma, a high school student who is following in the footsteps of his father in their family-owned restaurant. One day Soma finds that his father has left and he is now enrolled in the most prestigious cooking school in Japan. The anime takes you through Soma’s journey as he proves to be one of the greatest chefs of them all. Fair warning, the both anime and its depictions of the food will leave you salivating. It just looks that good. The anime has a good balance between action and drama within the plot. There are also moments of lighthearted, funny times that many will enjoy. There are currently three seasons of the anime. I guarantee, when you start, you can’t help but finish.

There are so many more good anime to watch out there, but these two in particular are highly recommended! They are engaging from the plot down to the littlest detail of animation. You surely will not be disappointed!
