Josephine Wright died on January 7, 2024 at the age of 94. She came into limelight because of her legal battle with a land developer on the South Carolina island. She died amidst her family members. She left this world without completing this legal battle. This left her family in shock and her granddaughter Charice Graves created a fundraising page on GoFundme to help in the legal battle. Many celebrities and actors were saddened to hear the news of Josephine Wright’s death and took to social media to pay tribute to her and express their heartfelt condolences to her family.

What Happened to Josephine Wright?
Kyrie Irving donated $40,000 to Josephine Wright’s legal battle and Snoop Dogg donated $10,000 to the fund-raiser. Tyler Perry had claimed to build a new house for her and he was planning to meet her next month and give her the keys to the new house but before that she left this world. After hearing the news of her death, Tyler Perry paid tribute to him on social media and said:
“I am deeply saddened to hear about the demise of this warrior. Ms. Josephine Wright, even though we spoke on the phone, I was looking forward to meeting you in person next month to hand over the keys to your new home, but God had other plans,”
“I know that when I turn those same keys over to your family, you will watch over us all so that your 4 children, 40 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren can still gather at your home on your land. And Show the world what kind of warrior you were,” he wrote. “You have finished your race and fought an incredible fight! Have a nice journey my dear lady. You inspire me.”
