Although the romance between Daniel Radcliffe and girlfriend Erin Darke began on screen, it has been going strong in real life for almost ten years.
The duo first met while portraying love interests in Kill Your Darlings, where they claim they soon recognised their chemistry extended beyond the camera. Despite the fact that Radcliffe, 32, and Darke, 37, have kept their relationship a secret ever since, their affection for one another is evident in the support they have given to one another’s endeavours over the years. (In reality, Darke supported Radcliffe at the TIFF premiere of Weird: The Al Yankovic story on September 8, above, in a rare appearance.)
She had appearances in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Good Girls Revolt, and the Oscar-nominated movie Still Alice for Darke. She even had the opportunity to work with Radcliffe once again on an episode of his television series Miracle Workers, which he described as “very amazing.”

Darke began her acting career in 2009 when she made her on-screen debut in the short film Obelisk Road. Since then, she has been in a lot of movies and TV shows, like The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Good Girls Revolt, and Dietland. She also had roles in the Beach Boys biography Love & Mercy as well as the Oscar-nominated movie Still Alice.
She attended the University of Michigan-Flint and was raised in the Midwest.
Darke, who was raised in the Midwest and was born in Flint, Michigan, enrolled in the University of Michigan-Flint at the age of 16 after growing up there. In 2005, she earned a bachelor of fine arts in theatre performance, which she credits with helping her refine her acting abilities and launch a successful career.

The Carrie Diaries, The Wolverine, and Noah were among the many movies she later worked on as a casting assistant.

Although it was fantastic, I felt that acting was where my true passion lay, so I have returned to acting as my full-time career.
In 2012, she met Radcliffe while working on the set of their movie Kill Your Darlings.
Shortly after turning her attention back to acting, Darke was cast in Kill Your Darlings, when she first encountered Radcliffe on the set. The two, who were portraying love interests on-screen, clicked right away. Radcliffe later admitted to PEOPLE that he wasn’t acting since the flirting he was doing when they were filming together was genuinely real.
Because of what our characters do with each other in their love scene, it’ll be a heck of a tale to tell our children someday, Radcliffe remarked to PEOPLE. The duo shares similar interests in “nerdy” pursuits.
After getting along on set, Radcliffe and Darke became friends over similar “nerdy” interests. In contrast to what he had always imagined, Radcliffe admitted that he felt fully at ease around Darke. He had always assumed that he would have to hide his nerdy side from ladies.
“I did a lot of things as a child that I considered to be quite nerdy. I’ll never be able to act in this way around a woman. However, when you do find the relationship you were intended to be in, that’s what’s so beautiful about it. Oh, I can do all that stuff, and you don’t mind, is how it sounds. You even believe it’s enjoyable. This is awesome!” In a Metro interview, Radcliffe stated.
Radcliffe claimed that Darke is also the reason he unironically watches reality TV during an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show in March 2022.
