Russell Martin Albers, a 41-year-old resident of McKinleyville, has been named as the suspect. His current whereabouts are unknown. She had surgery, and her health is stable. On December 27, at 12:12 a.m., someone called 911 claiming to hear a child screaming and adults shouting. According to the announcement, a report of a shooting arrived while deputies were on their route.
Soon after midnight on Tuesday, sheriff’s deputies from Humboldt County rescued an unharmed 4-year-old from the Eureka residence. The 911 call that sent deputies to the house had the child’s screaming audible in the background, the department claimed in a news release. According to Stephen Brown, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office, the two adults who died were the child’s parents.
