Brayden Erbacher die
A young motocross racer was killed this weekend at a national championship event, in front of his parents.
On Sunday morning, Brayden Erbacher was killed in a mishap while competing at the event in Victoria. His parents were among the spectators.
The 20-year-old Queenslander is being recalled as a good-natured, friendly larrikin who “lit up the room” in tributes that have been pouring in.
At the scene of the tragedy during round one of the Penrite ProMX Championship 2023 at Wonthaggi, paramedics attended to Erbacher, who tragically succumbed to serious head injuries incurred in the accident.
According to 7NEWS’s findings, numerous more motorcycles crashed onto him during the collision.
A serious incident necessitated the immediate cancellation of the race, according to a statement released by Motorcycling Australia.
No additional comment will be made while an investigation into the matter is ongoing. Some sort of announcement will be made at some point.
Tributes pouring in from bereaved friends and family have crushed the motocross world at large after the death of the young rider.
When I was a kid, you were my hero and the best big brother in the world. ‘You guided me through life to this point and for that I’ll always be grateful,’ Damon Erbacher wrote to his brother on Instagram.
You were my hero growing up, and how you handled yourself was a source of inspiration; you’ll always be my big brother, and I’m eternally grateful for our time together.
Erbacher’s uncle Elliot Newman wrote on Facebook his nephew “died doing what he loved”.
“He was a handsome young man who everyone adored… There is no one who can take this man’s position.
Erbacher’s mother, Corinne, was present at the Wonthaggi race and released a statement describing her shock and grief to Nine News.
The family said, “Brayden impacted the lives of so many, and we were so proud to name him our son. On behalf of the family, we would like to thank the entire motocross community for their support today when our whole world came apart.”
James Beston, the teen’s best buddy, sent a heartfelt farewell letter along with many other riders and friends.
They say nobody’s perfect, but you were pretty bloody near to it, he told his best friend for life.
You’d do anything for a friend, including giving them the clothes off your back.
“Even though you are no longer with us, your lovable laugh and giddy grin will be remembered fondly by all. There are no words to express how much I love and appreciate you, brother, and how much I will miss you till we meet again.
