After meeting for the first time at a party, the Disney star and the Hungarian model exchanged direct messages on Instagram. Because she wasn’t in the correct frame of mind, Barbara Palvin didn’t reply to his message for another six months.

June 2018

Eager to finally meet Dylan Sprouse, Barbara decided on a whim to travel to China to join him during his six-month filming schedule there. It was actually the first time they had gone out together. According to an interview Barbara gave to People Today in 2019: “The assignment in China was canceled at the last minute. I asked, “Do you think it’s insane that I still want to go and see you?” Only because I couldn’t contain my enthusiasm. And then he said, “Come on over here.””

Dylan Sprouse, speaking to ET in May of 2020, provided a thorough account of the couple’s quarantining experience and relationship dynamic in the midst of the pandemic.

According to what Sprouse had to say, “What we’ve realized is how well we get along with one another. It’s as if we can read one other’s cues and know when to give each other some breathing room. When one of us needs some space, the other knows. We have already established a system for dividing up chores around the house. We have our morning routines and our evening routines. Consequently, I believe that our connection… is more solid than ever before.”
