Sam Burns is a PGA Tour golfer from the United States. At Louisiana State University, he was a collegiate golfer. In 2021, Sam Burns swept both the Valspar and Sanderson Farms titles. During his sophomore year at Louisiana State University, Burns competed in 15 collegiate matches and won four competitions. Sam Burns was the 2016-2017 NCAA Division Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year and First-Team All-American.

At Calvary Baptist Academy, where he studied, Burns won three separate state titles at the individual level. And in 2014, Sam Burns took home the Rolex Award as the AJGA’s Junior Player of the Year. Sam Burns was an accomplished amateur athlete. During his amateur career, he won the 2014 AJGA Rolex Tournament of Champions, the Junior PGA Championship, the 2016 David Toms Intercollegiate, the 2017 Louisiana Classics, the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional, and the Sun Bowl Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic. Burns was a member of the victorious United States Arnold Palmer Cup team in 2017, and he also played in the 2017 Barbasol Tournament on the PGA Tour, where he tied for sixth.

Caroline Campbell is the wife of professional golfer Sam Burns. Burns and Campbell, both natives of Shreveport, Louisiana, first met at Sunday school. They started dating when Burns was a freshman at LSU and she was a sophomore, despite the fact that they went to different high schools. The four-year girlfriend of the former LSU All-American, Caroline Campbell, received the proposal in April 2019 at RBC Heritage. Campbell spent a significant portion of his childhood in Bluffton, South Carolina, at a spot called Palmetto Bluffs, which is located approximately 45 minutes from Hilton Head, thus the couple chose to propose during RBC Heritage. Burns tied the knot with his longtime love, Caroline Campbell, in December 2019.

Career of Sam Burns

Burns played in the Sanderson Farms Tournament in October 2017 for the first time on the PGA Tour as a professional. He played the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open a week after finishing T43 and placed T20. Burns finished in the top ten at the last stage of the Web.com Tour Qualification Tournament, earning him a spot in the first dozen tournaments of the 2018 Web.com Tour season. In February of 2018, he placed second at the Colombia Championship.

Burns tied for seventh at the Honda Classic, where he played the final round with Tiger Woods, earning him a spot in the Valspar Championship, where he tied for twelfth. Burns won the 2018 Web.com Tour Savannah Golf Tournament by one stroke over Roberto Castro after he birdied the final three holes. In 2018, he finished first on the Web.com Tour, earning himself a spot on the PGA Tour for 2019.
