Nashville school shooter identified as Audrey Hale
Audrey Hale has been identified as the person who opened fire on The Covenant, a private Christian school, on Monday, March 27. Before being shot by police, the terrorist killed three 9-year-olds and staff members. Who was Audrey Hale?
According to reports, Audrey Elizabeth Hale was born on March 24, 1995, making her the 28-year-old shooter from Nashville, Tennessee. Hale’s identity as transgender has been established. The Daily Beast was informed by a family source that Hale was autistic but highly functional. And only recently disclosed that she identified as he/him and was transgender,” the source said. Hale used the name Aiden on his Instagram page, which has since been taken down, as the family source confirmed. Additionally, Hale’s preference to use he/him pronouns was mentioned on the shooter’s LinkedIn profile. Hale’s gender identity is still under police investigation.

Career and Education
Hale attended the church-based school that they attacked as a student. The shooter continued his education at the Nossi College of Art in Madison, Tennessee, where he reportedly received an award in 2015 for being the “most improved.” According to school president Cyrus Vatandoost, Hale was a “talented artist and a good student” when he graduated in 2022. According to their personal website, Hale was a freelance graphic designer and illustrator based in Nashville who created logos and branding with the intention of “telling a company’s story” and bringing a “whimsical and light-hearted feel.”
“I do know Audrey; I’ve known her since she was a baby,” stated Sandy Durham, Hale’s neighbour. She continued, “She was very kind. I have no idea what took place. It really scares me.” Hale was described as a “normal, nice person, maybe a little quiet” by another neighbour named Sean. “There’s nothing that would have led me to believe that she was capable of such a thing or that she or anyone in that family would have access to, much less ever use, a gun,” he continued. They don’t seem like the family that would be around guns, just like that.”
