Vivian Trimble, a 59-year-old keyboardist, went suddenly after a protracted illness. She used to be in the band Luscious Jackson. The band confirmed the cause of her death and posted the news to their Facebook page on Thursday night. Luscious Jackson’s keyboardist and vocalist Vivian Trimble passed away on Tuesday (April 4). Her bandmates released a statement confirming her death from cancer, which had been reported by other sources. Her tally of years lived stood at 59.

It is with great sadness that we must inform you of the passing of our beloved friend and fellow band member Viv on Tuesday,” she continued. We love her and will miss her terribly. Nothing could have prepared us for this. In addition to being a fantastic friend, her greatest joy in life came from being the wife of David and the mother of Nate and Rebecca. She was an excellent companion. We have no words to describe how devastated we are by the loss of our graceful sister.

Who is Vivian Trimble?

Born on May 24, 1963, Vivian Elizabeth Trimble was an American musician until her untimely death on April 4, 2023. From 1991 to 1998, she was the keyboardist for the band Luscious Jackson, for whom she is most renowned.

In addition, she and fellow musician Jill Cunniff formed the band Kostars and released an album under that name in 1996. Trimble left Luscious Jackson in April 1998 to establish the duo Dusty Trails with Josephine Wiggs; the pair recorded an album together in 2000.

Jill Cunniff, Gabby Glaser, and Trimble began forming their band in 1991. Kate Schellenbach joined the company soon after it was founded. Natural Ingredients, the Beastie Boys’ 1994 album, and Fever In Fever Out, the group’s 1996 album, were published on Grand Royal and feature guest appearances from Trimble.

When 1999’s Electric Honey was released, Trimble left the band, and she never returned, even after Luscious Jackson regrouped in 2011.

In addition to their work in Luscious Jackson, Trimble and Cunniff were part of the band Kostars, who released 1996’s Klassic With a “K” on Grand Royal. In addition, in 2000, she and Josephine Wiggs of the Breeders recorded an album under the moniker Dusty Trails. Trimble leaves behind only David, her husband, and their children Nathaniel and Rebecca.
