According to the reports of the officials, it is being said that their search is going on since Monday. Sheriff’s West Valley Search and Rescue teams have begun searching for them. Despite the search by the rescue team, no trace of Lisei Huang has been found yet.
“Search and rescue personnel will remain on route and will resume the search when it is safe to do so,” SBSD said.
“The weather has effectively buried the mountain in snow and there is a high possibility that hikers will be in trouble,” officials said. “Resources are stretched to their limits and hikers who become lost may have to wait for long periods before assistance becomes available.”
“Many hikers, experienced or novice, underestimate the steep terrain, unpredictable weather and high winds present in our mountain areas,” officials warned. “Exposure to the elements and falls contribute to Mount Baldy’s increasing mortality rate and the risk of avalanches prolongs rescue efforts.”
