Netflix has recently covered his murder and this news has recently got viral on the internet as people are still curious about his death. Senzo was born in Durban, South Africa. He loved playing soccer and used to play a lot in his hometown. He wanted to become a striker at first then he changed his mind and had the desire to become a goalkeeper. He was the part of Orlando pirates club based in Johannesburg at the time of his death. He was also the captain of SA’s national soccer team.
A lot of rumors have been made about his death. Senzo Meyiwa got murdered in October 2014. Everyone was shocked after hearing such tragic news.
On 26th October 2014, he was at his girlfriend’s home. His girlfriend was Kelly Khumalo, and she was an actress and a singer. At night around 8:00 pm, two men forcefully entered their home. Their motive was to rob them. Senzo tried to restrict them, but they shot him to death. According to some reports, he was shot in the chest by the robbers. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead by the hospital death. He was 30 years old at that time.

Police tried to investigate the case, but they couldn’t find any lead until 2020. Police arrested 5 suspects for his murder in 2020. They were Mthokosizi Maphisa, Mthobisi Carlos Mncube, Muzi Sibiya, Sifisokuhle Ntuli, and Bongani Ntanzi.
There hasn’t been any proof that they were the ones who did it so they all have managed to maintain their innocence as of yet. Netflix released a 5 episode series based on his death called “Senzo: Murder of a Soccer Star”. It was released on 31st March 2022. The documentary series delves into the multiple theories, speculations and several sides of the story put forth in public by reporters and powerful law-enforcement authorities engaged in the murder probe.
Senzo will always be missed as he was a great player and an awesome person. May his soul rest in peace.
