Throughout the proceedings, the 54-year-old was wiping away tears and frequently looked down in what appeared to be an effort to avoid video of his murdered wife Maggie and son Paul. At one point, a member of his defence team covered the screen.

Evidence Of Killing His Family Members
The video revealed that Murdaugh had a shotgun with him after the killings. Greene claims that he claimed to have taken it after dialling 911. The jurors saw the gun after it was brought into the court as evidence.
Murdaugh told Greene that he thought the killings had something to do with his son Paul’s boating accident, in which he had drunkenly driven his vessel into a bridge and killed passenger Mallory Beach. This was immediately after the murder.
The government accuses Murdaugh, a now-barred attorney, shot his family members to death with various weapons, then drove to his mother’s house where he texted and called his wife to provide an alibi. He is then reported to have returned home at 10 p.m. and made a call to 911.

Double Homicide Charges
However, Greene’s veracity was challenged by Murdaugh attorney Dick Hartpoolian, who interrogated him about why he neglected to record tyre impressions and footprints found at the scene.

Murdaugh was struggling with drug addiction and severe financial difficulties at the time of the killings. The accusations against him have been met with a not guilty plea.
Murdaugh would receive a minimum of 30 years in prison if found guilty. The death penalty is not being sought by the prosecution. The three-week experiment, which started on Monday, is anticipated.
