After an argument at their Philadelphia home, Bam Margera, star of Jackass, was reportedly involved in, an arrest warrant was issued for him. On Monday (24 April), state police made public the criminal charges against the ex-MTV star. On Sunday morning (the 23rd), at around 11 a.m., police were summoned to a residence in Chester County in response to reports of a domestic disturbance. According to court records, Margera was arrested when his brother, Jesse Margera, reported that Margera had struck him in the eye, nose, and ear and kicked and beat on his locked bedroom door that morning.
In addition, Jesse reported discovering a threatening handwritten note by the name of “Bam,” as stated in the official police report. According to the affidavit, Margera left the property on foot via the woods before the police arrived. He faces four counts of terroristic threat in addition to the ordinary assault and harassment charges. Margera’s lack of representation in court records is not surprising.
Who is Bam Margera?
Brandon ‘Bam’ Cole. Margera is a well-known member of MTV’s staff, a professional skateboarder, a radio host, and a fixture in American pop culture. He spent his entire life in the West Chester area of Pennsylvania. He obtained his childhood nickname of “Bam” by repeatedly hitting his head against walls, and after achieving professional success, he officially changed his name to that moniker. Margera began making home movies with his pals as a teenager, documenting their daring skateboarding stunts and daring adventures. Soon after, he began releasing them under his own label as the ‘CKY’ series of independent music videos.
Margera was offered a spot on the MTV show ‘Jackass’ after the success of his own videos. Margera’s star began to rise among the youth demographic, prompting the creation of three ‘Jackass’ films. Other reality films he worked on include “Bam’s Unholy Union,” “Haggard,” and “Viva La Bam,” and he hosted his own MTV show. In addition to being the owner of the pub ‘The Note,’ he has also produced a number of independent reality films. He compiled his thoughts, stories, and photographs into a book titled “Serious as Dog Dirt,” which he wrote. He is a “Team Element,” a professional skating crew member.
Why did Bam Margera get arrested?
The trouble for Bam Margera continues. After an alleged fight, the 43-year-old former Jackass star is wanted by the Pennsylvania State Police, who have issued a warrant for his arrest.
According to reports, Sunday saw state troopers respond to allegations of trouble in Pocopson Township. They reported that Margera had been in a fight that left another person with minor injuries, but that he had gone into “a wooded area” before they arrived and could not be found.
Margera has been charged with assault, harassment, and four counts of making terroristic threats “with intent to terrorise another.” In March, the former MTV personality was arrested in San Diego, California, for alleged domestic abuse. There did not appear to be any charges stemming from the incident, however later that month he was arrested for public intoxication in Burbank, California.
In August of 2021, Margera filed a lawsuit against his former co-stars on Jackass for terminating him during production of Jackass Forever. He later dropped the complaint after striking a confidential deal with them the previous year. He has had a long history of drug abuse and addiction. EW’s request for comment from Margera’s representatives went unanswered.
Bam Margera Career
Margera has been making skateboarding videos with his buddies since he was a teenager, documenting their fun times and risky antics. The videos eventually become episodes of the CKY series. Many of the CKY series were released separately by him. Camp Kill Yourself is an acronym that is shortened to CKY. His buddies Ryan Dunn, Brandon DiCamillo, Rake Yohn, Chris Raab, etc., were also portrayed in these videos.
A role in MTV’s Jackass, directed by Big Brother’s legendary editor Jeff Tremaine, came about after the success of his CKY video series. Margera and Ryan Dunn quickly assumed central roles. From then on, Margera was cast in not one, but three additional ‘Jackass’ films between 2002 and 2010: Jackass, Jackass 2, and Jackass 3D.
It was a continuation of MTV’s Jackass, a series of reality films. After the success of “Jackass,” MTV gave Margera his own show, “Viva La Bam,” which ran from 2003 to 2005. All of Margera’s friends and family made appearances in this Jackass spinoff. Margera became a member of the ‘Team Element’ demo team for ‘Element Skateboards’ in 2003. He co-wrote, co-starred in, and directed the film Haggard in the same year.
