A Nigerian singer is making the news headlines as the report suggests he has died. Prince Chinedu Nwadike, a Nigerian gospel singer popularly known for his work ‘God of vengeance’ died yesterday (Sunday, 27th March).
What was the cause of Chinedu Nwadike’s death?
The singer, Chinedu is reported to be dead after battling with blood cancer. He died in Abuja on Sunday afternoon. Before his death, the 39-year-old musician was claimed to have recovered from kidney disease and was scheduled to travel to India for additional medical treatment.
Darlington Chidera Ibekwe, one of his friends and the President of Darlington Ibekwe Organization, announced his death on social media on Sunday, revealing that the late singer died of blood cancer. On his Facebook post, he wrote, “Rest In Peace Prince Chinedu Nwadike,” with a broken heart emoticon. He further informed, “He lost the blood cancer battle a few hours ago in Abuja. When I spoke to him over the phone last week, he told me he had fully recovered from the kidney issue and would be proceeding to India by this coming week for treatment of the blood cancer-Leukemia. This is a sad development; we just lost a golden voice. Let us please remember his family in prayers.”

Prince Chinedu Nwadike was aged 39 years at the time of his death. The gospel singer and preacher began his career as a dancer for Gozie Okeke, a fellow vocalist. Nwadike went on to become a full-fledged gospel singer and actor later in life. He once stated that he relied on dancing for other musicians to make ends meet before he began performing and selling his own music. Later, the gospel musician entered politics, serving as the special assistant on mobilization to Rochas Okorocha, the former governor of Imo state. He was a major supporter of Mr. Uba in the 2014 Anambra election as a member of the Young Progressives Party. He was married for a long time to Dorah Nwadike and the couple had three children.
