The loss of young life is always a sad thing to report. The innocence and the joy of being a child and discovering the world are forever snatched away in these instances. The news today highlights such a case where, in a vehicle crash, Hayden Grenert was declared deceased. Hayden Grenert was a popular Nevada baseball player with the Washoe Little League Baseball Team in South Reno. Hayden passed away brutally and abruptly, leaving his loved ones, close relatives, and friends heartbroken. Hayden was a treasured son and shy brother who died on March 9, 2022, as a consequence of damages inflicted in a horrible vehicle collision in south Reno.
The devastating news was reported on Facebook by Washoe Little League, they wrote, “With the heaviest of hearts, we hate to inform our community that we lost one of our own, way too soon. Hayden played baseball for Washoe, his brother Jaxson is in his senior year, his father Todd runs a major league team and serves on the board of directors, and his mother Danita is always present during the season. The Grenert Family exemplifies what we mean when we preach “community” baseball, and they are an integral part of what makes Washoe so special. This family has been there for us all, instilling in our children a love for the game. If you are able, please consider donating whatever you can to a family who has shown us so much love over the years. Please reach out for the link to a meal train put up to assist them with supper.”
Chris Peterson established a GoFundMe campaign to assist the Grenert household with funeral costs as well as other expenditures at this difficult time. The GoFundMe campaign has raised $5,507 of the $25,000 target so far. The reasons of demise and specifics of Hayden’s cremation are not mentioned in this article. Hayden’s relatives will put his eulogy on the internet in the coming days, which will include funeral services, dates, and burial arrangements.
