The death of Scout Masterson, the star of Extreme Guide to Parenting, occurred on September 11, 2022, at the age of 48. Bill Horn, his actor husband, broke the news on Instagram: “Yesterday we lost a beloved husband, kind friend, a decent son, and amazing parents. We love you and miss you very much, Scouty.
A post from Horn expressing gratitude for the outpouring of love and support was added later. The amount of support shown over the past three days has been incredible, he wrote. We appreciate it. There were numerous phone messages, Direct Messages, flower deliveries, and food deliveries. It’s because of so many things that we’ll make it through this.
Scout Masterson’s family hasn’t released his cause of death
As of yet, Scout Masterson’s family has not commented on the circumstances surrounding his death. The only thing anyone knew was that Masterson’s passing was a shock.
Many people whose lives Masterson affected have expressed their sorrow. Even Scout’s best friend, 90210’s Tori Spelling, found it difficult to deal with Masterson’s death at first.

The author, who called him the best dad, husband, son, dog dad, friend, and Guncle, lauded his selflessness and generosity. When she was finished, she wrote:
Stella stated, “I just can’t believe it’s the last time I’ll ever get a hug from Uncle Scouty. Best hugs ever came from that guy. And, it had the most pleasant aroma. This is all literally true. The most amazing hugger ever. My heart goes out to his stunningly lovely family. If you can, please light a [candle] in his memory. A lovely candle in his memory, if you can.”
Denise Richard, of Bold and the Beautiful, also paid tribute to Scout on Instagram. Her letter read as follows:
“Scouty, the years may pass, but I will never forget the wonderful times we shared. All the times we spent at the pool, doing kid stuff together, you and Billy being there for me as I adopted Eloise and acting as a confidant, and so much more.”
