The final video message Levi sent before going missing has been released by his mother. The mother of a missing British rugby player in Barcelona describes the past few weeks as “an emotional whirlwind.” Over a month has passed since Levi Davis vanished in Spain, and his mother Julie complains that the inquiry is moving “extremely slowly.”
The Worthing Raiders winger, 24, left Ibiza, where he was visiting a friend, on October 29 by boat. At around 2:00 a.m., he was last spotted on surveillance exiting the Old Irish Pub in the heart of Barcelona. Since then, no one has seen or heard from the rugby union player.
‘The few hours before to her kid going missing were “the scariest period,” according to Julie, a mother from Solihull in the West Midlands. He gave her a video of his boat’s deck taken from Ibiza, in which he can be heard saying, “It’s wonderful here.”
Levi may have been spotted a couple times since the end of October, but none of them have been confirmed as Levi. His passport was then found at Barcelona’s port region about two weeks ago.
Police in Spain have confirmed this to the BBC, although they have declined to comment further at this time regarding the inquiry. Julie expresses frustration about the lack of knowledge regarding her son’s whereabouts.
Julie Requests Further Information
There hasn’t been any new information on the passport since the last item we heard, she claims. The past several weeks have been “an emotional tornado” and “the scariest moment” of her life, respectively. She just travelled to Barcelona with her son Nathan to look for Levi on her own, and she plans to return shortly.
Issues With Mental Health
According to Julie, Levi was extremely honest about his mental health and had just been battling with a knee problem. She believes that he required some alone time since “the combination of all the problems and the injury” had left him mentally worn out.
Levi had been attempting to “handle things a bit more on his own” lately, according to his friend Tom Varndell. The former England rugby player continues, “instead of going out there and trying to seek aid – or ask people for support.”
Levi And His Relatives
Whatever the issue may be, Julie says Levi’s family is waiting for him and requests that he not assume that it cannot be resolved. Tom claims that his aspirations were somewhat dashed when Levi’s passport was discovered.
However, Julie and Tom both continue to have hope that the future will bring good news. Julie also offers the following message for Levi: “We all miss you, the family loves you so much. Son, we just want you to come home. Please come home so we can resolve the situation together.
Former Bath Rugby player Levi was involved in the appeal over his abduction a month ago. In 2019 and 2020, he made TV appearances on ITV’s Celebrity X Factor and E4’s Celebs Go Dating, respectively.
