Despite Matteo Berrettini’s poor performance in this year’s Miami Open, he now has more time to prepare for his upcoming match. On Saturday (April 1) in Miami, Florida, the 26-year-old Italian tennis player was spotted chilling out on the beach with his girlfriend, Italian broadcaster Melissa Satta. Although Matteo was eliminated in the round of 64 a week earlier, the pair decided to stick around for the duration of the competition.

Who is Berrettini’s girlfriend?

It seems that Berrettini and Lavinia Lancellotti were a couple in the past, but they are no longer together. Online rumours suggest the Italian may have had a thing for Genie Bouchard (not confirmed). Ajla Tomljanovic, a previous girlfriend of Nick Kyrgios, is reportedly seeing the Italian. Ajla was spotted in Matteo’s box at the US Open and most likely at Wimbledon when he played Diego Schwartzman.

He is now in his first major quarterfinal at the US Open, where he has advanced by beating Andrey Rublev and will play Gael Monfils of France in the Arthur Ashe Stadium today. He is overjoyed to have made it to the tournament’s semifinals after having started off at the bottom of the bracket. What he said was:

“It’s totally out there. I just don’t believe it. In an on-court interview, Berrettini remarked, “I need a few hours to realise what occurred.” The AFP reported that this statement was taken literally. That’s all I can say. It’s incredible to see my whole team and my family here, and they’re all sobbing.”

Did Matteo Berrettini Denied relationship with her girlfriend?

Matteo Berrettini has denied that being in a relationship with Melissa Satta has hurt his professional standing. The tennis community has been talking a lot about Berrettini’s bad form during the 2023 season. Others have speculated that the Italian’s poor performance might be attributed to his lack of work ethic and his purported prioritising of his relationship with Melissa Satta. Former Italian tennis player Nicola Pietrangeli spoke negatively on Matteo Berrettini’s work ethic and commitment to sport on February 18. In addition, Berretini and his fiancée have been the target of criticism from certain ennis supporters for spending the day at the beach despite his recent slump in performance.

On April 9, in an interview with Eurosport, Matteo Berrettini looked for the silver lining in the criticism that had been levelled at him. He claimed that all the media coverage and criticism he got proved how well-liked tennis is in Italy. But, the 22nd-ranked player in the world questioned the validity of reports that his romantic involvement was hindering his professional success. The proliferation of social media, he said, is to blame for the scathing reviews. The Italian said his happiness stems from the stability of his partnership.

“I’m at a loss as to how a romance could ever excuse you from working, yet rumours abound. It appears to me that general knowledge has been lost in this day of social media, when anybody may say anything. Yet, I am content, and that is all that really counts “His comment was as follows.

Who is Matteo Berrettini?

Italian footballer Matteo Berrettini was born on April 12, 1996. On June 24 of this year, he reached his highest ATP singles ranking of his career at No. 20. In addition, Matteo improved to a career-best ATP doubles ranking of No.105 on the 22nd of July 2019.

At the age of seven, Berrettini began playing tennis alongside his younger brother, Jacopo Berrettini. Matteo concedes that he finally agreed to play tennis because of his younger brother’s persistent pestering. And once he began to play, he was unable to stop.

In 2017, Berrettini entered the main draw of the Italian Open thanks to a wildcard he received in the tournament’s preliminary round. While he was eliminated in straight sets by Filippo Baldi, he ended up being the best Italian contender.

The 23-year-old won the Swiss Open Gstaad after defeating Roberto Bautista Agut in the championship match. During the same tournament, he also won his first ATP doubles title alongside countryman Daniele Bracciali.
