Paramedic Steven Tougher was stabbed to death outside a McDonald’s in Sydney’s south-west on Friday morning, and a 21-year-old man has been charged with his murder. Since he was five years old, the 29-year-old man wanted to work as an ambulance officer. His death was the first time a paramedic, whose job it is to save lives, had been killed while working for NSW Ambulance. The young father, whose family has consented for him to be named, and his partner pulled into the fast food restaurant parking lot on Queen Street in Campbelltown after just about a year on the job.

A shocked NSW Ambulance Commissioner Dominic Morgan said on Friday: “They had worked through the night shift and had just finished a case at the local hospital, and were just grabbing some sustenance as any person would expect that they would do and going about their job.” It’s tragic and almost impossible to cope with on any level for anyone, let alone a paramedic who puts their life on the line for the community every day, Morgan added. Many of Tougher’s friends showed wqe3astonishment and sympathy by posting tributes to him on social media.

“Forever and always, Steven Tougher. We did a lousy job of cleaning up, but everything looked okay. One acquaintance wrote, “Rest easy, my friend; I will treasure the years we shared and keep you in my heart always.” Police were summoned to the restaurant at 5:30 a.m., according to NSW Deputy Commissioner Mal Lanyon, because Tougher’s coworkers had activated the ambulance duress alarm.

Steven Tougher Cause of death

The NSW paramedic Steven Tougher was killed after being stabbed outside a Sydney McDonald’s. A 29-year-old paramedic was about to end his job when he was ambushed and tragically stabbed by a stranger. Later, he succumbed to his wounds and died.

After marrying the woman of his dreams, Tougher planned to establish a family in south-west Sydney, where he had just landed his ideal job. For close to a year, he had been serving his country. Dominic Morgan, the New South Wales ambulance service commissioner, said, “This is a young man whose father tells me that he knew from the age of five that he wanted to be a NSW paramedic.”

He was only motivated by a desire to be of use to others. Morgan claims the young paramedic’s family and the NSW Ambulance service were through a difficult time. This is a time to remember the paramedic and express sympathy to his or her loved ones.

Who is the Steven Tougher murder suspect?

Deputy Commissioner Mal Lanyon stated that the 21-year-old suspect was in custody and that “very good” CCTV was present at the incident. “The thoughts and sympathies of NSW Police are with the family of that officer and the entire ambulance family,” Lanyon said. Lanyon claims the police knew the individual, but only for “minor offences.”He said that the suspect’s history was being investigated. “We have received information that the man we have arrested may have been driving in the Ingleburn and Campbelltown areas in a blue-colored Honda Jazz,” he added.

Anyone with knowledge is asked to contact the police. In tears, NSW Health Minister Susan Pearce called the situation “incomprehensible.” “The health care system is one big family, and to lose someone in this way is incomprehensible to us,” she added. Floral tributes have multiplied at the site as fellow paramedics grieve the death of a colleague.

Paramedic Wayne Havenaar said that everyone in the area is experiencing it. “Many of our people are young people with kids of their own, and this is really hurting them.”

One remark at the memorial said, “He has paid the ultimate price for being a caring, brave soul dedicating his life to saving and serving those in need.”
