Fiona Beal, aged 48, is accused of killing Nick Billingham, her husband, around October 30 and November 10 of last year. Neighbors in her Northampton studio flat said she and Mr Billingham had purchased their £225,000 residence in 2020 and also had a child jointly. After four days of searching, the corpse was discovered in the yard of her Northampton home on Saturday, almost five months well after suspected crime. On Wednesday, Beal was apprehended 200 miles away at a motel in Cumbria. Authorities were originally dispatched to a home on Moore Street, where they conducted a comprehensive investigation of the premises.
A corpse was discovered dumped in the back yard by investigative authorities and expert search dogs, along with a cadaver dog. Beal just spoke specifically to give her identity, age, and residence, which was the Moore Street home in which the corpse was discovered. She was detained in jail until Tuesday’s hearing at Northampton County Court.
A spokesperson for the school stated after the elementary school teacher went on trial, “We were shocked and saddened to hear that one of our teaching staff has been charged with a very serious offence and is now remanded in custody. We are particularly mindful of the impact this news will have on the children, and will be doing everything we can to support both pupils and staff as we work through this difficult time together. This is an appalling tragedy that will shake our school community to its roots and it’s at times like this that we must rally around each other, support each other, and be kind to each other.”
