In a shocking turn of events, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” stars Drew Sidora and Ralph Pittman have decided to end their almost decade-long marriage.
Documents acquired by USA TODAY indicate that Sidora and Pittman have filed for divorce. In a statement to People magazine on Wednesday, Pittman also addressed the end of his relationship with Sidora.
“Love is a lovely thing,” Pittman gushed to the media. “We’ve decided to go our own ways and start new chapters in our lives, but it wasn’t an easy choice. My partner Drew and I have chosen to divorce.”
To which he elaborated: “The development of the brains of our three wonderful young children is of paramount importance to us. Please keep our privacy in mind as we go through this challenging period.”
On Monday, Pittman filed for divorce in Georgia’s Gwinnett County Superior Court, claiming that he and his wife had “irretrievably destroyed” their marriage and that there was “no realistic possibility of reconciliation.” According to Pittman’s petition, the pair has been apart since February 19.
On August of 2014, Sidora and Pittman tied the knot after meeting on the set of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” from 2020 to 2022. Both Machai, 7, and Aniya, 5, are loved and cherished by their parents. Sidora’s other son is named Josiah, and he is the product of an earlier union.

Pittman said in his divorce petition that he and Sidora would share “ultimate decision-making power” on the children’s education and health care, as well as shared physical custody. The novelist and business strategist is resisting paying spousal support or alimony to Sidora because of her successful acting career.
A key player on a nationally syndicated franchised show shown on the Bravo television network, “(Sidora’s) earning capability considerably surpasses (Pittman’s) capacity,” the complaint states. Furthermore, “(Sidora) is a seasoned professional actor and artist.”
In a June interview with BET.com, Sidora talked candidly about the challenges she’s had as a wife.
Originally published as: “I imagined it was like Cinderella, like a happily ever after,” remarked Sidora at the time. “My parents, who have been married for 60 years or more, made it seem so simple. Life is occurring, and people are growing and changing; I myself am a parent, and my family is relocating to a new city.”
