The premier of the British Virgin Islands or BVI, namely Andrew Fahie, has been arrested. He was charged with conspiring to import cocaine to the United States and was involved in money laundering. He was doing this in return for an amount of 500,000 US Dollars.
Andrew Fahie Arrested
On the 7th of August, 1970, Andrew Fahie was born in the British Virgin Islands. He was educated at Florida A & M University and has been the Premier of the British Virgin Islands since 2019. He has been in the sphere of politics from the age of 28 and has emerged victorious many times.
According to the official reports, 51-year-old Andrew Fahie was arrested at Miami airport along with the director of the Ports Authority of the British Overseas Territory. He was accused of being involved in a drug cartel and had conspired to allow Cocaine imports into the United States.
Also, he was arrested for money laundering. It was reported that the team wanted to import a good amount of Cocaine from Tortola Island to Puerto Rico and then to New York and Miami.
The British Virgin Islands port director Oleanvine Mynard and her son were also involved in this conspiracy. This news was broken by the British Virgin Islands Governor, who said that this was shocking, but calm had to be maintained.
All of this was going on from October 2021, and it was disclosed in April 2022. The officials are investigating the case in-depth, and more details have not been disclosed yet. Andrew Fahie has been earlier also charged for the same thing and even suffered a bullet shot a long time ago.
