“I take a look at some of the ones that turned out very good. While we were fighting for the title with the pressure on us and everything else, the weekend we spent in Phoenix the year before was perfect from start to finish. When it comes to that particular accomplishment, it’s no longer simply the driver’s accomplishment alone, and I couldn’t be prouder of our entire team. There have been races in which I feel like I performed well, but we did not get the finish that we needed to. You were the head of the group at the time, and it’s kind of difficult to argue that you handled your job well enough even back then.
At the conclusion of the 2022 NASCAR season, Joey Logano won the race at Phoenix Raceway with a commanding victory. He secured his second-ever NASCAR Cup Series title by starting from the pole position, winning Stage 1, and leading a race-high 187 laps to win the race. He handily outlasted the other three candidates for the title in the race that was 312 miles long.
