Todd Downing, the offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans, was detained for DUI only a few hours after the Titans’ victory against Green Bay on Thursday night. The Tennessee Highway Patrol detained Downing in Williamson County early on Friday. At around 4:30 in the morning, he was arrested for drunk driving and speeding and lodged in the Williamson County jail. Around 7 a.m., Downing was released.
Reason Of The Arrest
The arrest report states that the arresting officer stopped Downing after noticing that his car was moving at a high speed and that it seemed to be filled with alcohol. The Titans’ team aircraft, according to Flight Aware, departed Green Bay immediately after midnight UK time and touched down in Nashville at 2:07 a.m. Downing was stopped at about 2:30 in the morning.

As the offensive coach for the 9th grade B team at Eden Prairie High School, Downing held his first coaching position. In 2000, while he was in charge of his high school, the Eagles defeated Matt Birk’s Cretin Durham Hall Raiders to claim the Class 5A state championship. He was a public affairs intern for the Minnesota Vikings in 2002, a sports systems analyst from 2003–2004, and an attacking quality control instructor in 2005 after Chad Ostlund offered him an internship there in 2001. Downing was appointed by the then-St. Louis Rams in 2006 to serve as an assistant defensive and special teams coach. He would continue working here for two seasons.
