The Holly Springs Police Department has confirmed that one person has passed away following an officer-involved gunshot on Tuesday night in Holly Springs.
Where Did The Shooting Take Place?
On Cobalt Creek Way, in the town’s northern section, just before 10 o’clock, according to the police, a shooting took place. Officers reported that they were called to the neighborhood at 9:33 p.m. because a person was behaving “erratically,” verbally threatening locals, and obstructing access to their driveway as well as garage.

The Suspect
They claimed that when they got there, the person was waiting in the driveway of the house. According to a police department news release, the suspect then threatened the officers with a knife. At least one officer then shot the suspect. According to police, after being brought to the hospital, the suspect passed away. The name, age, and gender of that person have not been disclosed.
No officers were reported to have suffered significant injuries, however one was transported to the hospital to be examined for possible wounds. There is no longer a threat to the public, according to investigators who claimed there was just one suspect involved. The SBI is investigating the event following policy.
