Who Was Paula Mee?
She lectures in the Masters in Applied Culinary Nutrition programme at Technological University Dublin as part of her workweek. She has served as president of the Irish Nutrition and Dietetic Institute (INDI), the organisation that represents dietitians in Ireland, and is currently a member.
Ms. Mee was a well-known novelist who contributed frequently and favourably to Irish print, radio, and television media for almost 20 years.
Paula Mee Career
The Galway native, who would have turned 60 the following summer, graduated from NUI Galway with a BSc in biochemistry in 1983. Before becoming a registered dietitian, she continued on to Leeds Metropolitan University to complete a postgraduate dietetics degree.
Prior to starting her own consulting business in 2004, she had positions as senior nutritionist with the National Dairy Council and nutrition manager for Superquinn. She was a longtime member and past president of the Irish Nutrition and Dietetic Institute, the organisation that represents dietitians in Ireland, and she also worked as a clinical dietician in hospitals all over Northern Ireland.
