Following a 16-year partnership, Ashley Banjo and his wife Francesca Abbott have announced their sorrowful separation.
The Dancing on Ice judge posted a statement to Instagram on Thursday night, saying that they had decided to split up 18 months prior and that their current priorities were co-parenting their two young children, Micah, 2, and Rose, 3, respectively.
“We made the difficult decision to separate over 18 months ago. This is not a decision that has been made lightly after spending more than 16 years together, starting when we were teenagers, “Ashley composed.
“It has not been simple, and by no means has the matter been resolved quickly. But as the New Year draws closer, we believe it is appropriate to let others know about this information.
“Our lovely children will always be our top priority. Every choice we’ve taken has been made with the intention of maintaining our beloved family and providing the greatest possible parenting.”
