Christine Costner has petitioned Kevin Costner for a divorce.
Although the specific reasons for the divorce are unknown, Christine, who owns the handbag label Cat Bag Couture, cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split in the legal paperwork. An agent for Costner told People, “It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action.”
“We ask that his, Christine’s, and their children’s privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time,” the representative said. Christine, according to TMZ, has filed for shared custody of the couple’s three children. On Tuesday, May 2, 2023, the Yellowstone actor responded to the divorce papers by submitting his own and asking for shared custody. The couple wed in September of 2004 and now have three children: Cayden, 15, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 12.
Christine has not requested alimony in her petition. Kevin’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, says, “Spousal support to be payable to petitioner pursuant to the terms of the parties’ Premarital Agreement.” This is a reference to the prenuptial agreement that Kevin and his ex-wife signed before their divorce. In an interview with People magazine from November 2022, Costner said, “My wife does things that just absolutely… It’s only useful. She has improved the curb appeal of the home.
Because of her, everything feels a little cosier. He elaborated, “It’s the little things she does to make her house a home; I attribute their significance to the transformative power of love.” Their relationships has really came into focus throughout the epidemic in terms of what we do for one other and how we cope with our family, he added. You have to go with the flow here in our place, much like a river. And whatever it was supposed to be, it still may be, but it will have to adapt to the circumstances of the day.
Who is Kevin Costner?
Kevin Costner, born on January 18, 1955, in Lynwood, California, didn’t hold back when it came to pursuing his hobbies, despite the fact that his family travelled around a lot due to his father’s career, making him feel like an army child. His enthusiasm for acting was stoked by a chance meeting with the late Richard Burton on an aircraft. A veteran actor, Costner started his own production business in 1989 after appearing in films including “Silverado” (1985), “The Untouchables” (1987), and others. Kevin Michael Costner was born on January 18, 1955, in Lynwood, California, as the third child of parents Bill Costner and Sharon Rae. He was born after his brother Dan, who tragically died in infancy in 1953. Later, Costner produced, directed, and performed in “Dances with Wolves,” and in 1992, he co-starred in the romantic comedy The BodyGuard with the late, great Whitney Houston.
