Renowned radio DJ Mark Pilgrim has died. The news of his passing at the age of 53 was shared with the public by HOT 102.7FM in a statement. It was reported that he passed away at his residence with his family there.
“This morning, DJ Mark Pilgrim passed away after a courageous fight with cancer. He put up a brave fight right up until the last end. Mark passed away when he was at home, surrounded by his fiancee Adrienne.
The celebrity was well-known for presenting a number of radio programmes on stations such as 5FM, 94.7 Highveld Stereo, 94.5 Kfm, Hot919, and HOT 102.7FM. At the time of his passing, he was serving in his capacity as an employee of HOT 102.7FM. In addition, he was the host of the reality television series Big Brother South Africa and Big Brother Africa, as well as the game show Power of 10.
Diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer
A diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer was made for Pilgrim, and he subsequently disclosed that the disease had spread to his femur, the base of his spine, and his lymph nodes.
