Josh Sills, an offensive lineman for the Philadelphia Eagles, is being charged with two serious crimes with less than two weeks until his team plays in the Super Bowl LVII in Glendale, Arizona.
Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost said that Josh Sills had been charged with kidnapping and rape on Wednesday morning. The charges are based on something that happened in 2019. The Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office has been looking into the claims since the victim first told them about them in 2019. Sills is accused of groping and holding the victim against her will.
Josh Sills has now been officially charged with the crimes by the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office. The offensive lineman is due in court on February 16, 2023, in Guernsey County, Ohio, just four days after the Philadelphia Eagles play the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII.
The native of Ohio only played in one game for the Philadelphia Eagles this season, on October 9, 2022, against the Arizona Cardinals. That game was won by the Eagles, 20–17. During that game, Sills was mostly on the special teams.
Now, we don’t know if he will be able to play in Super Bowl LVII, and the Philadelphia Eagles haven’t said anything about it yet.
Ian Rapoport said on Twitter that Josh Sills has been put on the Commissioner’s Exempt List by the NFL. The Eagles haven’t said anything yet.
Josh Sills of the Eagles was put on the Commissioner Exempt List by the NFL after he was charged by a grand jury in Ohio today. While on the List, Sills can’t take part in practises or games, nor can he travel with the team.
It will be looked at as part of the NFL’s policy on personal conduct.
Sills “may not take part in practises, games, or travel with the team” if his name is on this list. Rapoport said that the NFL’s personal conduct policy will be used to look into it.
How long has Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Josh Sills played for the team?
The offensive lineman, who is now 25 years old, played college football at West Virginia University from 2016 to 2019. Then he changed schools and went to Oklahoma State. Before he left West Virginia University in 2019, he only played in two games there.
During his senior year at Oklahoma State, he started all 11 games and was voted Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year. Then he decided to enter the NFL Draft, but the outcome wasn’t what the offensive lineman had hoped for.

The Philadelphia Eagles’ offensive lineman, Josh Sills, is accused of rape and kidnapping in Ohio, according to Bleeding Green Nation.
In the 2022 NFL Draft, he went undrafted. However, when he became a free agency following the draught, the Philadelphia Eagles signed him. He battled it out with other camp participants to make the team. He was one of three athletes that earned a spot on the squad through tryouts.
He has been on the team’s active roster for the whole season, but he has only played in one game. So, if the Eagles decide not to let him go to Super Bowl LVII, it won’t change much about who starts.
