US track and field sprinter Fredrick Lee Kerley, better known as Fred Kerley, started in the 400-meter dash. He began running the 100 and 200 meters in 2020. He has had great success in the World Championships, winning many medals in both the 400-meter run and the 4400-meter relay, most recently a gold medal in the relay and a bronze medal in the solo competition. Kerley took first place in the women’s 100-meter event at the 2022 World Championships. Kerley is one of only three men to run the 100-, 200-, and 400-meter races in sub 10 seconds, 20 seconds, and 44 seconds, respectively. The other two are Michael Norman and Wayde van Niekerk.
