The news of the Orlando Pirates players’ detention is causing quite a stir. According to the most recent report, the South African Police Service issued an update on the arrest of an Orlando Pirates player and provided additional details on the charge.
Pirates claimed midfielder Nkanyiso Zungu was charged at the Moffatview Police Station on Sunday evening, but the club failed to give the details. “Orlando Pirates Football Club can assert that midfielder Police Station this evening. The club suspends Mr. Zungu pending a probe.
As this matter is presented in the hands of the authorities, the Club is not able to make further comment until the process is complete.” the Buccaneers announced in a statement. The club has suspended Mr. Zungu pending an investigation because the authorities are in charge of this situation.
The cops claimed in another statement to the Siya team that Zungu was arrested for allegedly assaulting his partner. According to SAPS, the player is scheduled to appear at the Booysens Magistrates Court today on a charge of common assault for domestic violence allegations.
“A 26-year-old professional soccer player was detained by the cops in Johannesburg on Sunday 13th of March 2022 for the alleged assault of his companion. He is expected to come up at Booysens Magistrates Court on Monday, 14th of March 2022, facing a charge of common assault under domestic violence.
Nkanyiso Zungu and Orlando Pirates fans were devastated to learn that the exquisite midfielder was arrested and handcuffed in public on Sunday. The celebration came following the club’s 3-0 victory over Royal Leopards in the CAF Confederation Cup in Soweto.
According to The South African, Orlando Pirates announced the arrest of the midfielder on Sunday evening. The club claimed that the ex-Stellenebosch FC player had been suspended, but the reason for the arrest was not divulged.
The following will not make for enjoyable reading, especially if your enthusiasm for the Buccaneers is erratic. Regrettably for the club, the Pirate’s reputation has been damaged as a club synonymous with sloppy footballers. The Soweto giants have been apprehended six times in six years, making it difficult to defend them.

The South African Police Service hinted at his detention, saying that “players from the Orlando Pirates are now in our custody.” We’re taking excellent care of him. He has committed a crime that is punished and illegal. Nkanyiso Zungu, a midfielder for the Pirates, was charged at the Moffatview Police Station.
The club has suspended Mr. Zungu pending an investigation. The Club cannot speak further until the police inquiry is completed because this matter is still under investigation by the authorities. In a statement, the police confirmed to the Siya Crew that Zungu was arrested for allegedly abusing his partner.
According to the SAPS, the athlete is scheduled to appear in the Booysens Magistrates Court today on a charge of common assault for domestic violence.
This is a massive setback for Zungu, who hasn’t seen much action this season for the Pirates. The player was linked to a probable exit from the club in January, but the club decided to keep him. Because they knew that if the cops released him, they would come back to play, they decided to go to the club. However, if they do not, the club will find it difficult to run again.
Zungu was the type of player who didn’t know the meaning of the word “give up.” He is always prepared to meet challenges, no matter how big or small. He was always ready. His name will always come first if he becomes the finest or one.
He decided to do those scenarios in which he was confronted with great difficulty, was hit by numerous stones, and was bleeding profusely from all parts of his body, and still, he persisted. That was the kind of nature he cultivated throughout his life.
He is always mentally and spiritually driven. His parents didn’t interrupt him because he was talking about his family. In every situation, he will be there for him. His folks were very proud of him.
