Retired news anchor Peter Bannon died at 76. his death occurred on June 16. Peter graduated from Notre Dame and then joined the US army. he was born and brought up in Brooklyn.
he was one of the soldiers who fought tooth and nail in Vietnam and returned with a promotion. according to his family, he was a captain with a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.
he also had a terrible experience with Agent orange which is a serious radioactive product that can damage a human for life. he shared the experience in an interview.
Bannon later became a staple on news channels. he spent 30 years as an anchor in new york, Atlanta, and savannah.
Peter was a man of integrity:
His colleagues were sure of his integrity and considered he was born with it. Tyus- shaw both the anchors were childhood fans of Bannon. later Tyus-shaw became anchor under him.
“I got a chance to work with someone who knew the business well, and someone who was quite intelligent,” Tyus-Shaw added.
“He learned the community and he loved this community,” Tyus-Shaw further added, “and I think that says a lot about who you are — not only as a journalist — but who you are as a human.”
Bannon left a beautiful family after him:
Bannon left a wife Theressa and a daughter Jennifer in this world. A private gathering has been organized to discuss the life of the deceased.
Even in death, his family thinks of the less fortunate. they have appealed to people to donate to a charity of their choice.
Bannon has left a void in the TV world. his anchoring was well reputed and his work was exceptional. the younger generation should take all the good things possible from him.
It is rare that journalists with ethics become popular, usually, the trickster gets the fame. Bannon was consistent in his services and he became a role modal for many.
